And yes, being young does help with design: you know that you're not widely expected to do anything but spam MySpace pages. Who expects you to have a website that doesn't look like, well, crap? You can learn until you plan to take your experience forward with you to a career. A lot of it is planning and getting inspiration though. I'm getting sick of my theme already. It could of been better :/ But then again, being young and still learning, I have found that I do learn a lot as time passes. So, my work comes out better than it would of a week or two before.
